Distorting the Shoah Contemporary Challenges and European Responses
The Jewish Community of Vienna cordially invites you to a conference dedicated to the current challenges posed by Shoah distortion and its significance in the fight against antisemitism.
Date: January 15, 2025
Time: 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: IKG Community Center, Seitenstettengasse 2, 1010 Vienna
Conference Language: English
The increasing falsification, relativization and instrumentalization of the Shoah by actors across the entire political and ideological spectrum undermines the commemoration of the Holocaust and the fight against antisemitism. Whether during the Covid pandemic or after the terrorist massacre by Palestinian terrorist organizations on October 7 in Israel and the subsequent war – the distortion of the Shoah in all its forms plays a key role in the spread of antisemitism.
The event will bring together leading experts in the field to discuss current challenges and European approaches to address these issues.
This event is organized by the Jewish Community of Vienna as part of the European Network on Monitoring Antisemitism (ENMA), with participants from the partner countries Germany, Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic, who will provide an international perspective on this topic.
