Great Synagogue: Guest Information

Dear guests,

since the Great Synagogue (Wiener Stadttempel) has become structurally dated, the synagogue will be restored starting October 20, 2025, and will remain closed until the High Holidays in autumn 2026. There will be no guided tours of the Great Synagogue during this period.

If you would like to attend a prayer service and are not a member of the IKG, you must register at least 3 days in advance. Please send an e-mail to visitors@ikg-wien.at, including a copy of your passport and your phone number. For security reasons, please bring photo ID with you and allow extra time for the required security checks.

Lost property: Items left behind are kept in our Membership Service Centre. You are welcome to enquire there whether your lost property has been found.

The Restaurant Alef Alef is next to the Stadttempel.

During the restoration and renovation of the City Temple starting on October 20, 2025, operations at the Alef Alef Restaurant will be adjusted: services will take place in the community center, and the kiddush gatherings will be held as standing receptions in the restaurant area.
