Next Step is an international training programme for young Jewish workers. Young Jewish professionals and future leaders aged between 25 and 35 are given the opportunity to develop their professional potential and acquire management and leadership skills. The multinational programme brings participants from different countries together. This encourages a sharing of experience between Jews and strengthens the social and professional networks of Jews in German-speaking Europe.

Next Step has been offered since 2015. The programme is run by IKG Vienna in partnership with the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities SIG and the Central Council of Jews in Germany.  Each year, a total of 30 Jewish applicants from Austria, Germany and Switzerland are selected. Participants take a number of courses lasting several days, in their own country and in another European city.

The aim of the training programme is to teach the skills that will assist the next generation of young people on their own professional career paths. They will subsequently be able to apply the knowledge that they have gained in their own community, for example in voluntary or professional posts, on committees or executive boards. The skills are taught by experts from different countries.

IKG Vienna pays for the training, accommodation and all meals. It also subsidises travel expenses.
