D'var Torah - thoughts for the Sabbath

Share

Each Sabbath (Saturday), a weekly portion of the Torah is read, sometimes two, so that over the course of the year the whole work is read. The weekly portion also provides guidance for thinking about that week and weekend, and parallels are often drawn with actual events of that week.

The thoughts for the Sabbath from Chief Rabbi Engelmayer in the form of short YouTube videos lasting about two minutes are meant to convey an idea, insight or key aspect of Jewish philosophy connected with the weekly portion and current affairs, which will provide us with food for thought for the weekend and perhaps beyond.
