Opening Gala of the Yiddish Culture Festival Vienna 2018: Vienna Klezmer Orchestra
25. November 2018 - 13. December 2018
Vienna Klezmer Orchestra
Opening Gala of the Yiddish Culture Festival Vienna 2018
Conductor: Sasha Danilov
Cornelius Obonya - Scenic Reading
Martin Breinschmid - Vibraphone
Constantin Moscovici - Panpipe
Other surprise guests
The Vienna Klezmer Orchestra is the largest ensemble of its kind and so far the only one in the world. Only three years young, the orchestra has successfully completed several foreign tours and festival invitations.
Cornelius Obonya, who has been studying Jewish culture for several years, reads texts by Austrian Jewish authors who have been persecuted, exiled or killed by the Nazi regime. But her lyrics live on.
As special guests we expect two virtuosos: Martin Breinschmid, Vienna's best-known jazz vibraphonist and Constantin Moscovici (from Chisinau), who has traveled the world with his panpipe. Other guests as a surprise.
