On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the vienna clarinet connection, the ensemble follows the footsteps of the "King of Swing" - Benny Goodman, and has also inspired major classical composers such as Bela Bartok, Aron Copland and Igor Stravinsky. Benjamin David "Benny" Goodman was an American jazz and swing musician, clarinetist and bandleader, known as the "King of Swing". His variety as an interpreter, composer and bandleader made the jazz clarinetist Goodman the founder of the "crossover", which provides many connecting points for his own pieces and arrangements of the vienna clarinet connection and thus forms the main theme for this program.
